Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Student," "you," or "your") and AI Literacy Academy Ltd. ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), a company registered under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

By creating an account on our learning platform at ailiteracyacademy.org (the "Platform") or by enrolling in any of our courses, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any supplementary policies referenced herein. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account. If you are between 16 and 17 years old, you represent that you have obtained verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian to use the Platform and that your parent or guardian has read and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. We reserve the right to request proof of age or parental consent at any time and to suspend accounts where such proof cannot be provided.

2. Account Registration

To access course content, you must register for an account using a valid email address and password, or via Google Sign-In. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at info@ailiteracyacademy.org if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, exhibit fraudulent behaviour, or remain inactive for more than 24 consecutive months.

3. Course Enrolment and Access

3.1 Cohort-Based Delivery

Our courses are delivered in time-bound cohorts. Each cohort has defined enrolment windows, start dates, and maximum capacity. Course content is released progressively according to a schedule set by the facilitators. Access to cohort-specific features (community feed, live sessions, project submissions) ends when the cohort concludes unless you hold an active alumni enrolment.

3.2 Payment Plans

We offer full-payment and instalment plans. Instalment plans may carry a markup as disclosed at the time of enrolment. If you select an instalment plan, you are committing to pay all remaining instalments by their due dates. Failure to complete instalment payments may result in suspension of your access until the outstanding balance is settled.

3.3 Coupon Codes

Promotional coupon codes may be issued at our discretion. Coupons are non-transferable, subject to usage limits, and may have expiration dates. We reserve the right to void coupons that were obtained through error, fraud, or violation of these Terms.

4. Fees, Payments, and Refunds

4.1 Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Paystack, a licensed Nigerian payment service provider. We do not store your credit or debit card numbers on our servers. Card data is handled entirely by Paystack in accordance with PCI DSS standards. Payment methods accepted include bank cards, bank transfers, and other methods supported by Paystack.

4.2 Currency

Course fees are denominated in Nigerian Naira (NGN). International pricing in US Dollars (USD) may be offered for students outside Nigeria. The applicable currency and amount are displayed at checkout before you authorise payment.

4.3 Refund Policy

You may request a refund within seven (7) calendar days of the date your enrolment payment was confirmed, provided you have not accessed more than 50% of the available course content at the time of the request. Refunds are issued to the original payment method and are subject to a non-refundable administrative charge of NGN 10,000 (or its equivalent in other currencies at the prevailing exchange rate).

To request a refund, email info@ailiteracyacademy.org with your registered email address, transaction reference, and the reason for the request. Refunds will be processed within 10 business days. Instalment payments are refunded only to the extent already paid, less the administrative charge.

Enrolments obtained through a 100% discount coupon (zero-cost enrolments) are not eligible for monetary refunds.

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Our Content

All course materials, including but not limited to video lessons, written guides, templates, frameworks, project briefs, rubrics, and AI prompt libraries provided through the Platform, are the intellectual property of AI Literacy Academy Ltd. or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use course materials for your personal educational purposes only. You may not reproduce, distribute, sell, sublicense, publicly perform, or create derivative works from our content without prior written consent.

5.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of content you create and submit through the Platform, including project submissions, community posts, comments, and student notes. By submitting content to the Platform, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, and reproduce your submissions for the purposes of operating the Platform, providing feedback, and showcasing student work (with attribution) in our marketing materials. You may revoke this marketing licence by emailing us.

6. AI Sandbox

The Platform includes an AI-powered learning assistant (the "AI Sandbox") that uses third-party language models to help you practise AI skills. Your prompts are sent to a third-party AI provider for processing. Prompts and responses are stored in your account history to provide conversational continuity.

The AI Sandbox is an educational tool. Responses generated by the AI may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. You should not rely on AI-generated output for professional, legal, medical, or financial decisions. We are not liable for any actions you take based on AI Sandbox output.

You agree not to use the AI Sandbox to generate content that is illegal, hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or that violates third-party intellectual property rights. Abuse of the AI Sandbox may result in suspension of your access.

7. Community Guidelines

Our Platform includes cohort-based community features. When participating, you agree to:

  • Treat fellow students and facilitators with respect and professionalism.
  • Not post spam, advertisements, or promotional content unrelated to the course.
  • Not share another student's personal information without their consent.
  • Not upload malicious files or links.
  • Not plagiarise or submit another person's work as your own.

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these guidelines. Reports of violations can be submitted via the in-platform support ticket system.

8. Certificates

Upon completion of a course, you may be issued a certificate of completion. Certificates are issued at our discretion based on completion of required coursework and may be verified publicly via the Platform. Certificates represent completion of our training programme and do not constitute a professional certification, accreditation, or academic qualification.

We reserve the right to revoke certificates in cases of academic dishonesty, fraud, or violation of these Terms.

9. Referral Programme

Students may participate in our referral programme by sharing a unique referral code. Referral rewards (if any) are issued at our discretion and subject to conditions we may publish from time to time. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the referral programme at any time. Self-referrals, fake accounts, or manipulation of the referral system will result in disqualification and potential account suspension.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform and all content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not guarantee specific learning outcomes, career advancement, or income increases as a result of completing our courses.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, AI Literacy Academy Ltd., its directors, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AI Literacy Academy Ltd. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your violation of these Terms, your use of the Platform, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

13. Modifications to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email to your registered address or through a notice on the Platform at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved within 30 days, either party may submit the matter to mediation under the Lagos Multi-Door Courthouse. If mediation fails, the dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and AI Literacy Academy Ltd. regarding your use of the Platform and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
